What are Mennekes cable connectors used for?

Mennekes cable connectors are predominantly used for heavy-duty, industrial electrical power distribution and EV (electric vehicle) charging – both of which are chosen for their safe, durable, and watertight connections.

IP44 cable connector versus IP67 cable connector - which is right for me?

The right cable connector for you depends on the proposed usage and the inherent water exposure risk. For splash-protection for predominantly indoor tasks, IP44 ratings should be sufficient, while for fully-outdoor, high-exposure risks, IP67 ratings are considered submersion-proof. 

If you aren’t sure, it’s best to opt for increased protection just in case, rather than less.

Are Mennekes cable connectors waterproof?

For waterproof Mennekes connectors, many opt for an IP67 rating. These connectors are designed to be temporarily submersion-proof for around 1 meter for 30-minutes and are considered ‘water-resistant’ for short-term/temporary submersion. 

For fully waterproof, long-term applications, IP68 would be more suitable.
