Modern energy storage systems (ESS) demand interfaces that are compact, efficient, and capable of handling high currents without generating excessive heat. To meet these requirements, HARTING has introduced the Han® S series, specifically designed for ESS applications. The cable-side features angled housings, while the input side can rotate freely through 360° when connected. This design greatly improves cable flexibility, making it easier to link ESS modules and combine them into larger units.
Previously, the maximum power rating was 200A. The new Han® S 450 Plus raises the bar, delivering up to 500A to support higher charging and discharging currents in battery storage systems. Enlarged contacts and housings ensure safe operation without overheating.
HARTING offers housings for three conductor cross-sections:
-95mm² → up to 350A
-120mm² → up to 400A
-150mm² → up to 450A
Beyond performance, the Han® interface stands out for its robustness and user-friendly design. It guarantees up to 500 mating cycles, a durability unmatched by comparable products. The locking mechanism is intuitive, ensuring secure and reliable connections.
Colour coding enhances safety and clarity: red for positive, black for negative, with additional options in blue and orange. The housings also feature a double locking system and multiple coding options, including five distinct mating profiles, to prevent misconnection.
