HUMMEL Hygienic Cable Glands – Pressure Cleaning

HUMMEL Hygienic Cable Glands have been specifically designed for use in applications where the settling of microorganisms and dirt must be avoided and prevented. Examples include pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries as well as in bio and cleanroom technology.

The Hygienic design range has major advantages over regular types which are industry norm. HUMMEL cable glands are characterized by an extremely high strain-relief, provide a 360° connection of the cable shielding and protect the sealing insert from twisting during assembly.

The housings of the hygienic cable glands are without corners and edges as well as exposed external threads and the surface roughness is smaller than Ra 0,8 µm which makes them very easy to clean. Such characteristics make the cleaning time of the gland much shorter than what it would be if it had sharp corners or edges and allows for low maintenance in applications which requires the prevention of bacteria.

The enclosures are made of high-quality stainless steel (EN 1.4404 / AISI 316L) and the silicone sealing is ECOLAB certified, conforms to FDA standards and also passed the VDMA Riboflavin cleaning test.

These specific HSK-INOX-HD-Pro variants are ideally suited for high-pressure cleaning processes.
