A few of us at Northern Connectors were very pleased to visit Old Trafford football ground last Tuesday to watch Manchester United Vs Benfica in the Champions League. 

We were invited by Belden who we have recently become a preffered partner of in the UK as we have been a franchised distributor for both Hirschmann and Lumberg automation for many years, both of which are Belden brands. During this time we have built up a strong and loyal relationship with the manufacturers as well as an in depth knowledge of the products they have to offer such as the Hirschmann CA Series and the Lumberg M12 series.

The evening which started in the Red café where we were firstly greeted by a champagne reception and then had a three course meal followed by a speech from a Manchester United legend Jimmy Greenhoff who is still to this day a fan favourite and played for the reds from 1976-1980.

During our time before the game we had the chance to get our photos taken with the trophies currently held at Old Trafford and took part in a raffle and a quiz, neither of which we were successful in.

The game started with an own goal by United defender Phil Jones which set up an exciting game as United were desperate to win this one to separate themselves from Benfica in the closing stages of the Group stages .  Four goals were scored in total and the game resulted in a 2-2 draw with United attacking continuously for the last 10 minutes or so.

We had a fantastic day and are very grateful to Belden for this opportunity.
