Souriau has been designing and manufacturing connectors for the most extreme of environments for nearly 100 years and has now made a giant leap forward by offering an overmoulded version of the hugely popular UTS series.
The overmoulded single ended cordset is available in both the UTS standard and UTS Hi-Seal series and in two styles, straight ended and right angled.
The customer has the choice of a male or female connector on a length of 1 metre cable with an MOQ of 10 pieces, 3 metre and 5 metre lengths are also available on request. If a connector is also required on the free-end this can discussed.
The outer jacket material of the cable used is black PUR for outdoor use and black PVC for indoor use. The connectors are available in sizes 8-18, and from 2-32 way.
The benefits of using the new overmoulded system include;
• The ability to have a right angled connector which hasn’t been available in the UTS series previously.
• Reduced part numbers due to connectors having moulded cable and contacts being pre-loaded.
• Better protection against liquids, as with the moulding comes a barrier that prevents ingress through the connector if the cable jacket is breached.
• Quicker ‘turnaround‘in production for the user as the connector is already terminated to the cable.
