Applications that have a requirement for low power and signal can often be subject to budget restrictions. We are often asked to offer advice on a connector system that is low cost and compact but still maintains a good degree of ingress protection and that hasn't had a compromise in quality to facilitate these factors.
Binders 620 and 720 series are ideal for such a requirement and slot very nicely into the range of connectors that we have to offer. Both series offer a snap-in mating system and maintain IP67 rating in mated condition.
The 620 series is the smaller of the two systems and measuring around 11.5mm across the face of the cable connector is often referred to as a subminiature system. This system is available in both male and female cable and panel connectors with pin counts of 3, 4, 5, and 8. The 3 pole system can accept up to 3A per pin with the 8 pole allowing 1A per pin.
The 720 series is an up-scaled version of the 620 offering the same degree of ingress protection and snap in mating system but allowing for higher power requirements with the 3 pole system accepting up to 7A per pin, 5 pole at 5A and 8 & 12 pole accepting 2A. Although I mention that this is larger than the 620 it still only measures around 16mm across the face of the cable connector and is therefore referred to as miniature.

The 720 series has more variation and choice than its smaller sibling and allows for various cable sizes on the field attachable cable plugs with a selection of gland choices.
The 720 series also has the option of introducing colour into your application as in addition to the standard black housings there is also the choice of red, green and blue.
Both the 620 and 720 series share the same solder bucket termination method which means that there is no expensive tooling required. Another common feature of the two systems is the unique design of the panel connectors which allows them to either sit proud on the panel or when used in conjunction with a socket adapter (either front or rear fastened) they can be recessed and therefore sit flush.
